Swachcha Bharat Gopalpur

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national cleanliness campaign run by Government of India, initiated and promoted by the Honourable Prime minister Narendra Modi, in order to spread awareness to make urban and rural India clean. This includes promoting health and hygiene, cleanliness, disposal and recycling of waste.

Indian festivities are always full of pomp and colour but no one seems to care about the aftermath it leaves on nature and the surroundings.
Just like every year, 2018 Diwali waste was spotted in the nook and corner of Alipur village in Gopalpur. Around 600 people live in this village, who remained unaware of the need to clean it up, or the negative effects of such waste.
New Life Development Society saw this as an opportunity to make the people aware of the situation and encouraged the vocational training program members to join in a cleanliness campaign as part of Indian Government’s national campaign, “Swacch Bharat Abhyan”. About 60 people joined in the mission and cleansed the neighbourhood with all vigour.

Sarpanch says, “It was a successful event and we are happy to see the clean surroundings. Our training program members showed much willingness in cleaning the mess”. We believe it was an amazing opportunity to leave our positive impact on the neighbourhood.

New Life Development Society hope that the message reaches each and every citizen and motivate them to wake up and act.
